The Foundation: Vellore, Books, and the Stage
My journey to becoming an author is rooted in the rich, sensory experience of my childhood in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. My early life was defined by an effortless immersion in storytelling, an experience I recognized as the bedrock of my creative impulse.
The Library of the Home
My father Ganesan, a weekly magazine distribution agent, ensured the family home was a perpetually overflowing library. This direct, constant access to an array of books, newspapers, and magazines—from weekly novels to scholarly journals—provided me with a uniquely broad and unconstrained literary education. I had learned to read and absorb narratives of every kind, fostering a curiosity that spanned fiction and non-fiction.
The Power of the Voice
The intellectual foundation of reading was complemented by the deeply human tradition of oral storytelling. During the intense summer afternoons in Vellore, my mother Mathangi, would enthrall me and my younger sister, Preethi, with countless stories drawn directly from the literature abundant in my home. This fusion of independent reading with traditional oral narrative taught me early lessons in pacing, character voice, and the magnetic power of a well-told tale.
Engineering the Drama
Long before becoming a published novelist, my creative energy found its home in the stage drama. From my school days through college, I dedicated my time and effort in writing and directing numerous plays. This intense theatrical experience was formative, forced me to master narrative economy and the power of dialogue concentration. Writing for the stage taught me that every line must propel the plot or reveal character, a discipline one can feel in all my books.

The Genesis of Story: Collection and Conception
My novels are not born solely from quiet contemplation but from an active engagement with the world. The initial spark is a collaborative effort between the external world I explore and the internal world I dream.
The Explorer's Wellspring
I am a passionate car enthusiast and a relentless traveler, viewing the road as a vital source of creative energy. My commitment to experiential living is intense, underscored by a personal best of 2165 Km in a single week-long trip. I hold the belief that collecting good memories and experiences is much more important than any wealth. This commitment is not mere leisure; it is a conscious wellspring for my narratives.
My travel takes me to old, religious, and historical places, gathering the rich cultural, spiritual, and architectural texture that informs my plots. The stories often find me through various ways: they are born from tales I heard from people I meet on the road, or from scenarios that I dreamt of. This fusion of lived experience, deep curiosity, and the unconscious mind forms the raw material of every book.
Thematic Fuel: Myth and Mind
My stories are inherently fueled by an unwavering curiosity about the unseen. I have a deep and abiding fascination with Hindu mythology and other religious mythologies, alongside a continuous exploration of supernatural and mysterious events reported globally. These subjects provide the philosophical core, or "food for thought," that elevates my crime and horror plots beyond simple suspense. This thematic curiosity naturally leads to my non-fiction work, where I apply the same inquiry to the internal world.

Developing & Structure: Beyond plotting, engineering is key to my non-fiction. In Emotional Engineering, I apply the same principles of systemization and analysis to emotional well-being, creating actionable "blueprints" for the reader to manage their inner lives.

Mythology & Horror: My interest in ancient myths provides the lore and the thematic gravity for my horror. These tales are not mere background; they are the operating system for the supernatural elements, making the unbelievable feel grounded in an enduring, cultural reality.

Travel & Memory: My commitment to collecting experiences ensures my worlds feel authentic. When describing an ancient religious site or a remote stretch of highway, the detail is often drawn from a memory, transforming a scene into a visceral setting the reader can trust.
The process, in its entirety, is a continuous cycle: Explore ==> Engineer ==> Express.
It is a lifelong commitment to observing the world, understanding its rules, and then demonstrating how beautifully and terrifyingly those rules can be broken.
